Ontario Government Supporting Critical Community Programs and Services in Lanark-Frontenac-Kingston

5 local non-profit organizations receiving over $235,000 in funding

Smiths Falls ― The Ontario government is providing 5 non-profit organizations in the Lanark-Frontenac-Kingston riding with $235,300 in funding this year through the Ontario Trillium Foundation’s (OTF) Seed grant stream. The funding will help provide residents better access to the critical programs, services, activities and spaces.

“Our government believes local non-profit organizations enrich the lives of people in Lanark-Frontenac-Kingston and play an important role in building a strong community and prosperous economy. That is why our government is proud to support these program and service providers through OTF’s Seed grant stream,” said John Jordan, MPP for Lanark-Frontenac-Kingston. “Organizations such as Big Brothers, Big Sisters of Lanark County and New Leaf Link in Frontenac County are pillars of our community. This support will enable them to deliver essential programming and better serve the people of this riding, making a positive difference for years to come.”

OTF’s Seed grant stream helps organizations build resilience and enhance their ability to deliver programs and services that directly benefit community members. Grantees can use their funding to support organizational planning, pilot a new program and/or build their organizational capacity to plan for future programs and services for the people of Lanark-Frontenac-Kingston.

“In communities in Lanark-Frontenac-Kingston and all across Ontario, non-profit organizations are delivering critical programming that is helping people train for new careers, stay active, learn new things, and connect with their community,” said Stan Cho, Minister of Tourism, Culture and Gaming. “This Seed grant funding will help ensure these non-profits can build their capacity and prepare for the future so they can continue to support the needs of communities across our province today and tomorrow.”
