Rural Community Connections Event: Imagining Stronger Ties Across Rural Landscapes

Attention residents of South, Central and North Frontenac – The following News Release is from the organizations that will be hosting this free event on April 17th at the Verona Lions Club. Read below for more details.

Community Foundation for Kingston & Area (CFKA), the Adverse Childhood Experiences and Resilience Coalition of KFL&A, Rural Frontenac Community Services and Kingston Community Health Centres are proud to present a Rural Community Connections event in Verona on Wednesday, April 17th, 2024.

The free event is open to all ages and features a facilitated community discussion on building connections in rural communities to reduce the health and social impacts of isolation, and to foster resilience from the early years to the later years.

This is a unique opportunity to:

  1. Learn more about the emerging research on the value of social connection.
  2. Share experiences and ideas on how to build social connection with a wide range of people living in rural communities, of diverse ages and backgrounds.
  3. Explore strategies and initiatives to enhance social connection in rural areas.

All residents of South, Central, and North Frontenac are welcome. If transportation is a barrier to participating, please contact the number below for assistance.

The event takes place from 10:00 am until 1:00 pm at Verona Lions Club and includes coffee, tea, snacks, and a light lunch.
